So rightly said by William Butler Yeats “Learning is not a spectator sport”, the whole process of learning takes a lifetime. You can never learn something in just a fraction of time. It takes years of hard work and dedication to learn and achieve something in life. You may certainly grasp in your vision and mug up something, but to learn and make it a permanent part of your brain you need to devote a lot of time with a respective issue. Even the greatest of people believe that nothing can be done in brief period of time. After all Rome was not built in a day! Learning is a beautiful process in which our mind, soul and heart completely undergoes a process in which we gather several know-abouts which help us to convey our knowledge to the one in need and for self acceleration.
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever”- Mahatma Gandhi.
No fact is sufficient for a human being. To learn is a non-stop process. It keeps going on and on till we die. Knowledge is what we gain as a by-product of this process. Knowledge is best shared and multiplies the more you interact with others.
“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn” –Benjamin Franklin.
While learning we need to keep in mind one thing, that we dedicate our mind and body so much into it that we do not have the idea of what is going around. Concentration to learning is how stars to the sky are. If we do not concentrate in what we learn we might be able to recollect and recall it for a short while but in the long run we surely would not be able to even faintly touch the boundaries of what we had learnt. So while learning it is very important that we concentrate and note down in our notebook-like brain, the essence of it.
Time is another major factor which contributes to this process like the fuel-wood to the fire. The more time you devote the better your understanding will be. And once you understand, there is no doubt about it that you will forget what you have learnt. Learning and time are directly proportional to each other, the more time you provide to the process the more you will learn, the lesser time you give and your knowledge would be totally null. Time management is very essential to this process. You should always know how much time you need to devote to this. Like in the lifetimes there are a few things which are important and the others which are not, in this learning process also we have things which should be learnt and the others which should just be given a glance at and be just understood. The priority should be known.
Another thing which matters is to know what to learn that is to know the RIGHT and the WRONG. In life there are many phases in which you need to make a selection between the correct and the incorrect. There it becomes very important to know what is right and to select the right thing, and also to select the right way of approaching towards it. Life gives you many opportunities to learn. One should always grasp the right ones and game in for them .Patience to be the key to it. You don’t many often have the opportunities coming your way. You need to be patient enough and wait for them. Also learning is a tedious process. It involves a lot of hard work and dedication. Slowly and steadily work upon your learning process and you never know ! You might touch the flying colors.
The MOST important and yet the most difficult element of this process is hard work. Nothing in this world is gained without hard work. You cannot just become a omniscient one day. You need to work a lot to gain knowledge and apply the rules of learning to life. A dream doesn’t become reality through magic. It takes a lot of sweat, determination and hard work. The only way to learn things is to work hard. And not everybody can do it. It requires the right spirit of willingness. “Hard work spotlights the character of people. Some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don’t turn up at all.” Perseverance is what will help you with hard work, as perseverance is the hard work you do after you are tired of doing all hard work.
Our life is full of ups and downs and so is the journey to perfection. We may find many obstacles which we need to overcome in this process. One of them is failure. But does failure really serve as an obstacle? Well, not really. Failure is one of the best opportunities to learn. Failure teaches you the best lessons in life and there is a lot to learn from these lessons. It depends on you whether you from your failure or not. Mistakes are another things which help you to learn. You commit a mistake and you learn from it and do not repeat it in your life again. There are a few who learn from their own mistakes, a few who learn from the mistakes of others and many who don’t learn from either at all. It depends on you that which category you want to fit in. Success can be achieved only through learning and success are no short cuts to success. Success is the result of hard work, preparation and learning from failure. So keep learning because it is never enough and there is always more to learn. Question people. Ask what you do not know. And always share your knowledge.
“A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer” – Bruce Lee.
