There are many qualities out there which a person has to imbibe if he wants to be successful and motivation is one such important factor which matters a lot in shaping up a person as well as helping him to achieve success. Well generally motivation means a driving force or an influence that encourages us to achieve our goals or simply we can say that it is the distance between dreaming about your goal and achieving your goal because staying motivated all along the way can take us to our desired spot. Swami Vivekananda has aptly said “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.”
Now the big question is “where does motivation come from?”, “how to stay motivated all the time?” Well motivation can come from anywhere we put our faith and belief in. It may come from our parents, our teachers or from a book we read or from a song. It may also come from some famous personality you admire or from some life instances or can even come from lots of motivational thoughts, quotes, videos or even from some failure of ours from past. All these are external stimulators to motivate us from within because at the end of the day it is self-motivation that drives you towards your dreams and goals. In today’s world self-motivation is quite a big word in itself because people who are believed to be motivated are said to be the most controlled people and being a quite a controlled person is very important. Being able to control your mind will help you stay focused on your goals and also builds patience as well as endurance to face each and every challenge which comes on your way. Getting motivated on a consistent basis is not easy as it sounds but as it is said “nothing is impossible” so here also a little trying and building the right mindset will definitely help.
Well if we analyze a bit we will see that the opposite of staying motivated is procrastination or indirectly it refers to the fear that develops within. According to Tony Robbins an American life coach and a motivational speaker this notion of fear can be broken down into two parts. Firstly the fear that we won’t be GOOD ENOUGH and secondly the fear that we won’t be LOVED (accepted). Suppose you really want to follow a new fitness regime so that you can get into a desired shape and can fit into the dresses you really always wanted to wear but you have the fear that if i don’t reach my desired goal or what if your friends and family don’t accept us with the new fitness regime we follow. They may even call you crazy for working out at odd hours or for quite a long time. They may even try to throw you out of your track by distracting you. But as it is said that everything comes with a price, so yes you have to leave all your ego, fear and your temptations if you really want to achieve your much desired goal and the end result you will get would be quite satisfying. When you procrastinate you are allowing fear to control you and that is one of the worst mistake a person can commit while being on the path of achieving his goal.
The most important weapon of motivation is action and as Tony Robbins always keeps on saying “emotion comes from action”. So motivation is that emotion that would help you push through your fears. If you find ourselves on the wrong track immediately change course and do something different because sometimes changing up a little is enough to put you back on the right track.
As henry ford has aptly said that “The whole secret of a successful life is to find out what is ones destiny to do and then do it” and certainly there are no ground rules set for getting us motivated but yes we can follow some basic things to set our motivation on the right path because life is not about finding yourself rather it is about creating yourself. First of all things the basic stuff about getting motivated is being able to identify our goals which includes figuring out what we want to accomplish and what actions should we follow to fulfill our goals and accordingly create reminders, cues and works so that we can keep ourselves on our task and stay motivated all the time to do it. Secondly we should observe people who are one step ahead of us, we need to pick up their positive points and learn something from it and as Vaibhav Shah has said “Whenever you see a successful person you only see the public glories, never the private sacrifices to reach them” so it quite a tip to take a better look at a person’s life and get some positive energy from them. Thirdly do your homework well, make a commitment and swear by to stick to it at any cost and finally the important thing to do is to take action and don’t hesitate just do it because it is better to do it now than to regret later.
As Ray Goforth has said “There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed” so it is better to stay away from such people and build up positivity around us because Zig Ziglar says “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing- that’s why we recommend it daily”
